Year End ... Party !!

Went for the Cadence year end party and after a number of years, burnt the danced floor all night . Initially when we were in Noida, we used to have a lot of parties and at good places, like the Hyatt or the Taj or better still one of the huge farmhouses, but not anymore. Noida now operates on a much lower budget, with very few low key, low involvement in house parties. Moreover, with the office expanding so much, the small dance floor is always crowded and we have tried dancing on the fringes of the same, but always ended up being pushed out by the younger , bachelor and more enthusiastic and energetic crowd. Earlier Diwali party used to be a party to be awaited, like an extended family get together, where everyone knew everyone.. but now we have to seek out the familiar faces and we used to feel lost in the crowd. I remember one Diwali party, held at a farmhouse on the outskirts of Delhi, where I was the first person to enter the dance-floor and the last one to leave it. In fact, me and my husband, literally met on the dance floor .. so the dance floor holds a lot of good memories for me.

The Bangalore party was different, much smaller and very reminiscent of the good old Cadence parties. It was held at the Taj Residency in one of the smaller halls, so it had a cozy feel to it. Though we do not know too many people here at the Cadence office, still the gathering was small enough to meet up with the few familiar faces, and chat with them. The dance floor was accessible, and after a number of years, my husband said, 'Let's dance'. And dance we did, the whole night.. and left the dance floor only to have a quick bite. Initially Ananya resited dancing and asked me if I was going to dance with her father, whom was she going to dance with. Eventually she sat on the sides and joined us for a song or two, but mostly watched us. As we were eating, Ananya said, "Mummy now I want to dance", and so we quickly finished what we had on our plates, and were on the dance floor again, till the last dance.. "Mauja hi Mauja".. my current favourite. Ananya fell asleep on the way back and we went home tired and satisfied.
